The vision for this home was two-fold: to extend the footprint to allow for more living and entertaining zones, plus reinvent the personality of the home with a modern slant. The bold design choice to contrast the addition with the lower level has achieved a home with stand-out.
Achieving a sharp square architectural extension to stand out from the existing house was the overarching driver for the design. Our client was keen to introduce a variety of custom elements to achieve this aesthetic edge, in both the internal spaces and external features. The upper level was configured to allow for a master suite and a generous secondary living and entertainment space, complete with a balcony outlook onto the garden. The kitchen also underwent a significant styling revamp, enhanced with a spacious longline stone bench and airy dining zone. A split level, staggered outdoor entertaining deck has breathed fresh life into outdoor entertaining and relaxing for the family, and has a distinctive modern feel.
